I am pleased with my portfolio, which includes not only the environment but also water and a competitive circular economy. These areas are essential for the EUs competitiveness. We must collaborate with stakeholders and simplify wherever possible.
High environmental standards and business opportunities are two sides of the same coin. We need a change of mindset and must bring everyone along. We recently introduced a template for nature restoration plans to reduce workload.
The European Green Deal remains an economic strategy. By investing in renewables, circularity, and natural resources, we can enhance our global competitiveness and open new growth opportunities like the bioeconomy.
The bioeconomy can contribute to the EUs goals by promoting a regenerative approach. It is important to ensure sustainable biomass sourcing and create new market opportunities.
