President von der Leyen emphasized the importance of transatlantic relations and cooperation with the USA. She warned against trade wars and their negative effects, such as higher taxes and disrupted supply chains. The EU is prepared to take countermeasures to protect its interests. It is crucial to increase defense and security investments and strengthen European industry. The EU plans a defense package to support member state cooperation. Finally, the need to accelerate Ukraines accession process and discuss the conditions for ending the war was highlighted.
