Since January 13, 2025, the Bosscherveld lock operates on block times, allowing ship passage only at specified times. The lock has malfunctioned due to door issues.

Rijkswaterstaat implements block times to protect technical components while allowing passage.

Block Times for Bosscherveld Lock

Operating times are listed in the shipping announcements (BAS messages). Until further notice, the following times apply: 08:00 - 10:00, 12:00 - 14:00, 16:00 - 18:00, 20:00 - 22:00.

Cause and Solution for Bosscherveld Lock Malfunction

The malfunction is due to certain door components not working properly. A sustainable solution is expected during major repairs at the end of 2025. Temporary adjustments have been made to quickly address the malfunction. Parts are being replaced early, and in April 2025, it will be checked if these measures are sufficient to lift block times.

Major Maintenance for Bosscherveld Lock

Major maintenance for Bosscherveld Lock is planned for fall 2025, expected to start at the end of September or early October. Further information will follow through our communication channels.
