The demolition of the stranded houseboat near the overflow dam in Maastricht has begun. Early 2024, the boat broke loose due to high water caused by the damaged overflow dam. The houseboat drifted against the bridge on Stuwweg and was irreparably damaged.

Emptying the Stranded Houseboat

In the week of February 10, 2025, construction company Zuyd began emptying the stranded houseboat. The dismantling started in the week of February 17, 2025, after which the houseboat can finally be removed.

Subsequently, the bank under the boat will be further completed. This is all going according to plan and all these activities will be completed within a few weeks.

Stuwweg Works

It was previously communicated that the works should be completed by March 15, 2025. From April, the bridge on Stuwweg will be repaired.
