Winter Festival in the Molenbuurt

On Saturday, January 18th, there is a winter festival in the Molenbuurt. Residents are warmly invited. Come in the afternoon to the neighborhood festival, organized by Healthy Neighborhood Molenbuurt.

Residents have shared ideas to improve play, sports, and meeting opportunities. During the winter festival, you can give your opinion on this. We want to offer a cozy afternoon and let residents think along about the neighborhood, say the organizers.

Activities

The festival is from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grondzeilerplantsoen. In case of bad weather, it will be held at community center de Wieken. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, everyone is welcome at de Wieken. We will think together about the sketches, and there will be a snowball fight (even without snow!) and making fat balls for the birds. Free snacks and drinks will be available.

Healthy Neighborhood Molenbuurt

In 2025, the Molenbuurt will be made greener and more challenging for play and movement. We are also looking at how to make the neighborhood more attractive for meetings. This is done together with the residents in the Healthy Neighborhood Molenbuurt project.

The project is a collaboration between the municipality of Almere, Jantje Beton IVN, and JOGG. We focus on the area left of the bus lane (Grondzeilerplantsoen, Tjaskerplantsoen, and the field between Dwangmolenstraat and Piet Moeskopspad).

On the right side of the bus lane, major maintenance is being done on play areas. Fewer play areas will be returned, but these will be more attractive and challenging for children.
