This measure encourages housing flow in the market. The subsidy scheme for housing flow encourages small households in large social rental homes from housing corporations to move to a home better suited to their living situation. This frees up larger homes for starters and families and makes better use of the existing housing stock. Tenants using the From Large to Better scheme can apply for a subsidy to help with moving costs.
The moving premium currently amounts to € 750. This amount is increased to € 1,000. The municipality raises the subsidy because moving costs have increased in recent years. With the higher compensation, the municipality wants to make it more attractive for more residents to use the scheme.
