Municipality of Bladel Participates Again in the National Tile-Removal Championship!
The Municipality of Bladel is once again taking part in the National Tile-Removal Championship. From March 19 to October 31, 2026, the municipality will work alongside residents to replace as many tiles as possible with greenery. After all, fewer stones mean a cooler living environment, less waterlogging, and more space for plants and animals.
Paved gardens and public spaces come with significant drawbacks. They lead to higher temperatures, increased fine particulate matter in the air, and issues during heavy rainfall, as water cannot drain properly. Additionally, there is less living space left for bees, butterflies, and birds. Green gardens and public areas, on the other hand, contribute to a healthier and more pleasant living environment for people, animals, and the environment.
Leading by Example
The Municipality of Bladel is starting with itself. In public space projects, we remove tiles wherever possible and replace them with greenery. All removed tiles count toward the total, and of course, we aim for the highest possible number!
Get Involved in Your Own Garden!
Do you live in the Municipality of Bladel? During the campaign period, you can dispose of garden tiles and paving stones free of charge at the environmental street. This is possible throughout the entire period, from March 19 to October 31, 2026. You can also collect free compost here to immediately green the freed-up space.
Working Together? Tile Container Available
If you want to work together with neighbors, a school, or an association and remove more than 20 m² of tiles, you can request a tile container via Blauwgroen Bladel. Submit your request at blauwgroenbladel.nl/nk-tegelwippen-2026 indicating where and when the container is needed. Containers are only available on weekdays and are delivered the day before tile removal and collected again at the end of the day after removal.
Report a Tile-Removal Location
Do you know of a spot in the public space that could use more greenery? Report it via blauwgroenbladel@gmail.com, including the address, a brief description, and a photo. The municipality will then assess whether tile removal is possible.
