Want a free front garden?
The municipality is giving away free front gardens again! Would you like to qualify for one of these lovely strips of greenery along the front of your property? Then apply before 20 April. While stocks last!
A front garden offers numerous benefits. It brightens up the neighbourhood and contributes to biodiversity and a climate-resilient environment. The flowers and plants attract butterflies, insects and birds. Rainwater can seep into the ground more quickly, reducing the risk of flooding during heavy downpours.
Evergreen plants along your front wall also help keep your home cooler in summer. What’s more, a street with more greenery stays cooler than a densely paved street, where heat radiates back.

Does your (side-)wall border directly on the pavement? Check here to see if you meet the criteria and sign up. You can do this by sending an email before 20 April with the subject line: ‘Spring front garden action’.
Include your name, address and phone number, and attach a photo of the spot where the front garden will be placed. You will receive a response with more details. If the above doesn’t work, call 0172 522 522 and ask for Eline Kruk.
A limited number of front gardens will be installed. If you participate with your neighbours, you’ll get priority!
The front gardens will be installed in May.
