What's happening in Schutterspark?
There's a lot going on in Schutterspark in Brunssum! Construction work is underway or about to begin in various locations throughout the park.
These activities are all part of an implementation program for the period 2025 - 2030. Recently, Alderman Hugo Janssen unveiled several construction boards outlining what will be happening in this beautiful park over the coming years.
The implementation program gives substance to the design vision established in 2022. The first projects have already been completed or are underway. These include the reconstruction of the staircase on the Kleiberg, the creation of the Schutterspromenade, the installation of new route markers and signage, the renovation of boardwalk paths, and the expansion of the surface area of hanging fens.
Other works are currently in preparation. These include the renewal of signage (road signs, route markers, etc.), the renovation of the pond edges, the replacement of lighting and asphalt paths, and the redesign of the parking areas near Schuttershuuske and the rowing pond. And much more. Want to know what else is planned? Check out this special project page.
