Free bag of compost on Saturday, March 28
The National Compost Day is upon us again. On Saturday, March 28, all residents of Capelle can pick up a free bag of compost between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the milieustraat on Groenendijk.
From GFT to compost
Compost is made from the collected vegetable, fruit, and garden waste in Capelle. To thank all residents of Capelle for separating their GFT, everyone can pick up a free bag of compost. By properly sorting our waste, as many raw materials as possible can be reused.
Because the same applies to GFT waste: what is not in it, does not need to be extracted from it. Dutch composters put in a lot of effort to remove contamination from the GFT waste. If the collected GFT waste is free of other waste, the quality of the compost is also better.
Tip: Drop off your bulky waste at the milieustraat as well. That is also used as a raw material for new products.
Mix your compost well
Note! Compost is not potting soil, but plant-based fertilizer. Therefore, you must mix compost well with garden soil. Use 3 parts soil and 1 part compost.
