Funding available to green your neighborhood together
Would you like to work with your neighbors to make your street or neighborhood greener? We have €50,000 available per project for three green pilot neighborhoods.
The green pilot neighborhoods are large neighborhood projects in the public space. You and other residents develop a plan for a location where you would like to remove tiles to make room for greenery. In your application, describe which street or neighborhood it concerns and the size of the area. We will assess your plan based on factors such as the current level of paving, how much additional greenery will be added, the level of neighborhood support, and whether the plan is feasible if you and your neighbors take on the management and maintenance. The final plan will be drawn up and implemented together with the municipality.
Good for the neighborhood
More greenery makes your neighborhood a more pleasant place to live. Green spaces help combat heat and waterlogging. Green areas in the neighborhood encourage outdoor play, sports, and socializing. In 2025, projects at Plesmanplein, Hagestraat, and Solidarnoscstraat were among the winners.
Submit your idea
You can submit your idea until May 1, 2026. On June 1, 2026, we will announce the three winning ideas. By the end of September 2026, we will work out these plans with the winners so that implementation can begin by the end of 2026.
