The municipal executive of Haarlemmermeer has adopted the draft visual quality plans for Lisserbroek-Noord and Lisserbroek Binnen Turfspoor and publishes these plans for six weeks for inspection. This marks the next step towards the construction of approximately 3,600 new homes in Lisserbroek.
The visual quality plans describe how the new neighborhoods should look, from homes and street profiles to the green-blue backbone through the area. The plans are used to preserve the village character and spatial quality of Lisserbroek. The plans are drawn up in line with the previously established essence maps and supplemented with specific guidelines. More information can be found on the website Building Together in Lisserbroek.
Recognizable
Alderman Beryl van Straten (Housing and Spatial Developments): ‘With these visual quality plans, we ensure that Lisserbroek remains recognizable as a village for current and future residents. Residents can view and respond to the plans so that we work together on a pleasant, sustainable living environment by the water, with plenty of greenery and space to meet each other.’
3600 homes
Approximately 3,600 homes will be built in Lisserbroek in the coming years, in a mix of social rental, affordable mid-range rental, owner-occupied, and free sector. In Lisserbroek-Noord and Binnen Turfspoor, the first phase concerns 1,153 and 1,325 homes respectively, including associated facilities and public space.
Municipal Council
After the six-week inspection period, the final visual quality plans will be submitted to the municipal council. The final plans are expected to be submitted for decision-making in the second quarter of 2026.
