Alderman Enklaar launches Textiel Race 2026
On Thursday, 19 March, Alderman Enklaar launched the Textiel Race 2026 at VSO De Lelie. The Textiel Race is an educational project in which schools from the Noord-Veluwe region will compete to collect textile waste between 23 March and 16 April. The project combines raising awareness about circularity with the collection of (old) textiles.
Various schools in the Noord-Veluwe region will also compete against each other over these four weeks. They will vie to collect as much clothing and old textiles as possible, which will then be reused and recycled. The school with the highest yield wins an all-inclusive school trip. In this way, the Textiel Race makes reusing, repairing and collecting textiles fun, educational and easy!
Residents can also contribute
You can help the students by offering your (old) textiles for free. Think of a broken sweater, old socks, curtains or towels. Register your textiles between 23 March and 16 April via www.textielrace.nl, and students from the participating schools will collect them from your home free of charge.
By disposing of your textiles correctly, you help reduce environmental damage, prevent poor working conditions and enable more textiles to be reused.
