Collect broken and unused devices and support students in the E-waste Race
From March 16 to April 9, 2026, the E-waste Race is on. Students from 11 primary schools in Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Molenlanden, and Vijfheerenlanden are competing to give as much electronic waste as possible a new life. In this special project, students discover how important repairing, reusing, and recycling is and what they themselves can do for a cleaner, more sustainable future. And you can help the schools in Hardinxveld-Giessendam!
Support the students in Hardinxveld-Giessendam
In Hardinxveld-Giessendam, IKC Merwede and Ichthus school are participating in the E-waste Race. Help the students of these schools by reporting your broken or unused devices. From old cables and adapters to broken kettles or keyboards, everything with a cord or battery counts.
How can you help?
It's simple: report your devices from March 16 on www.ewasterace.nl, and the students will come to pick them up for free, depending on their availability. This way, you support the students in their fight against electronic waste and help them earn points for a great prize.
Why participate?
Half of the electronic waste does not end up in the right place. Old laptops, broken kitchen appliances, and other devices remain on attics or in drawers. This is unfortunate because many of these devices contain valuable raw materials. Therefore, Waardlanden organizes the E-waste Race: an exciting competition in which the students save as much e-waste as possible from the trash can. The goal is to pass on broken or unused devices for repair or recycling.
Who wins the race?
The school with the most points wins a fun and educational school trip to the Nemo Science Museum in Amsterdam. Will you help the school in your area to victory? Together, we give devices a second life and save valuable raw materials. This way, we work towards a waste-free and clean region and a sustainable future.
