Volunteers sought for special photo exhibition
Do you know someone who is always ready to help others? Or are you such a volunteer yourself? In Heemskerk, village photographer Ben Roozendaal is taking photos for a special photo exhibition about volunteering. We are looking for volunteers who we may photograph while they are working. From sports coaches to walking buddies or the quiet force behind the scenes, everyone can participate!
Or nominate someone. From all registrations, 8 volunteers will be selected to be photographed. Their portraits will soon be on display throughout Heemskerk: in shop windows, online, in the newspaper and in the town hall. Where an overview exhibition will be held. You can register until April 1, 2026!
As a kickoff for the project, photographer Ben Roozendaal visited volunteer Jarno, who has been dedicated to youth in Heemskerk for almost 10 years.
