Heerlen launches project on women and heritage
The municipality of Heerlen has launched the European project Bridging HERitage. From March 10 to 12, eight European partners visited Heerlen for the first working visit. Together, they will work for two years to give more attention to the role of women in European culture.
More attention for women in heritage
With this project, Heerlen aims to highlight the important role women have played in European history. This role is often still given too little attention. The project also aims to promote greater equality and a more inclusive view of cultural heritage. Residents of the city are actively involved in the project. Heerlen is coordinating the project and therefore organized the first meeting.
European cooperation project
The project runs until October 2027 and is funded by the European Union through the CERV programme. Partners from nine European countries are involved and will organize meetings and activities with local women. Read more on the website of Samen in Buurt Heerlen.
