Construction container, scaffolding, moving lift?
If you place something like a construction container, scaffolding or a moving lift in a public space, such as a sidewalk or street, you must report it. Sometimes, you will need a permit.
Moving, demolishing or (re)building. Everyone will encounter this at some point. For certain jobs, a construction container, scaffolding or moving lift can be useful. If you place these objects in a public space, you must report them.
In some situations, you will need a permit. By submitting a report or applying for a permit, we limit the nuisance to the surrounding area as much as possible and, more importantly, we ensure that the area remains accessible to emergency services.
Report or permit
For objects that remain in place for a maximum of 30 consecutive days, a report is generally sufficient. If the objects are placed in a parking lot of a shopping centre or if traffic will be significantly hindered by the object, a permit is required.
Permit checker
On our webpage h-i-ambacht.nl/ GebruikOpenbareRuimte you will find the link to the Permit checker. You can use this tool to check whether a report is sufficient or if you need a permit. After completing the checker, you can immediately submit a report or apply for a permit. You will need DigiD for this.
Location map required
When submitting your report or permit application, upload a clear location map showing exactly where you intend to place the object(s). Only with a clear location map can we properly assess whether public order and/or safety may be compromised and whether you are permitted to place the object(s). The map drawn in the Permit checker is not sufficient; we use this only to determine which department will handle your application/report.
Processing period
The processing period for a report or permit is 15 working days after receipt by the municipality. Submitting a report is free of charge, but a permit application incurs fees (costs) and charges for the use of municipal land.
