The chairman of the music association, Henk van Raaij, received this special distinction today (Saturday evening, March 14) from mayor Marieke Moorman. The presentation took place during the Jubileumconcert 2026 at Duvelshof in Sambeek, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Semper Unitas.
Harmonie and Drum Corps Semper Unitas not only has a rich musical history but has played a crucial role in the social and cultural cohesion of Sambeek for over a century. The association connects generations and provides villagers with a place to make music together, organize events, and meet each other. “Semper Unitas is much more than a music association. It is a living piece of village history and the heart of the community,” according to the patron of Semper Unitas, mayor Moorman.
On January 11, 1901, the harmonie Semper Unitas saw the light of day. Since then, countless residents of Sambeek have contributed to the association.
