Lansingerland realizes a pumptrack
Four young, sporty residents of Lansingerland came up with the idea for a pumptrack in their municipality and collected 400 signatures for it. The municipal council embraced this initiative and allocated funds for the construction of the pumptrack. A pumptrack is a playground and sports facility in one. It is accessible by bike, scooter, and we are making it wheelchair accessible. Everyone can enjoy playing and exercising in the fresh air here.
Designer and builder
The municipality selected VeloSolutions for both the design and construction of the pumptrack. The design is being done in collaboration with the initiators. This ensures that the pumptrack meets the users' wishes. VeloSolutions is a well-known party in the field of designing and constructing pumptracks. They have already realized several pumptracks in Europe.
In addition to a challenging course, we also take biodiversity into account in the design. The area around the track will get a green appearance through additional plants. This makes the place even more attractive to play and move around.
Planning
At the moment, the final investigations are taking place regarding the suitability of the possible location in the Annie M.G. Schmidtpark, near the skatepark. The quality of the subsoil and the exact position of the pumptrack are still being investigated. We expect to have the first sketches by the summer and to be able to start construction in August.
Deputy Mayor of Sport Leon Hoek posed with two of the four initiators and the representative of VeloSolutions: “With the construction of the pumptrack, we are rewarding your beautiful initiative. How nice will it be to be able to say in the future that you have made this pumptrack possible. It's great that you want to contribute to the design. Our outdoor play offer will thus be enriched with a beautiful addition. I look forward to the opening in September or October!”
