Shrub Action 2026 in the Month of the Green Garden
Lansingerland Municipality is organising a shrub action for all residents. There are 800 free native, organic, and pesticide-free shrubs available. The shrubs have been selected for their value to birds and insects. There are 6 different types of shrubs, 3 for sunny spots and 3 for shady areas.
Registration for this action opens on March 16 and closes on March 30. Registration will also close if we run out of shrubs. So act quickly, as they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Choose from shrubs suitable for sunny or shady spots.
Sunny spots
- Field maple (Acer campestre)
- Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)
- Clustered rose (Rosa corymbifera)
Shady spots
- Common dogwood (Cornus sanguinea)
- European spindle (Euonymus europaeus)
- Guelder rose (Viburnum opulus)
Note: The shrubs are intended for your own garden or balcony and not for public spaces. One shrub is available per address.
On Wednesday, April 22, you can collect your shrub between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the municipal car park on Tobias Asserlaan 1 in Bergschenhoek. Are you removing tiles to plant the shrub? There will be a container on-site to dispose of the tiles.
Our green partner Orbis will be on-site to provide planting instructions. This will give your shrub the best start and the greatest chance of successful growth.
