Kieskompas: Help for municipal elections
Residents of Leiderdorp can use a local voting compass starting Tuesday, February 17. The aim of this online tool? To help voters prepare for the upcoming municipal elections on March 18.
Leiderdorp Mayor Tjarda Struik: "As a municipality, we believe it is important that as many people as possible vote in the municipal elections. This way, we get a true reflection of our village. The voting compass can help residents inform themselves properly before casting their vote. Ultimately, of course, it remains up to each voter to make that choice."
How does it work?
Residents who complete the Voting Compass must answer about thirty statements. They then receive an overview of the political parties participating in the municipal elections. At a glance, they can see how parties differ from each other and which positions best align with their personal views.
How was the voting compass developed?
The statements were drawn up by research agency Kieskompas in collaboration with all local political parties and specifically address issues that matter in our village. All party positions have been verified against official documents using a scientifically substantiated method. According to the research agency, this makes the Voting Compass a transparent and reliable voting aid.
Now available for use
