Celebratory opening of renovated Neringweg
The Neringweg has received a fresh new look—and we celebrated it together! On Thursday, 19 March 2026, we officially opened the redesigned road with local residents and entrepreneurs. Residents and business owners could enjoy coffee from an Italian mobile espresso bar parked along the Neringweg.
Safer and clearer
The Neringweg is now better designed for all road users. The cycle path on the north side (from Muntstraat) has been widened and now connects seamlessly with the southern section. The Neringweg–Muntstraat intersection has also been raised, and new shark’s teeth markings have been added, making the traffic situation clearer and safer.
Improved visibility
To enhance visibility, the fish stall has been slightly relocated, creating a better view of the intersection and improving safety.
Greenery around the Zilverpoort building
New greenery has been planted around the Zilverpoort building, featuring a variety of flowers and herbs. This adds colour to the neighbourhood and supports bees and other beneficial insects.
Ready for the future
The Neringweg is a key link in Lelystad’s cycling routes. With these improvements, the road is now future-proof—safe, clear, and pleasant for everyone.
Our thanks to all residents and entrepreneurs who attended and contributed their ideas!
