Losser receives € 75,000 from the province for a stronger and future-proof center
The subsidy is intended to give an impetus to cooperation between entrepreneurs and the municipality and contribute to a vital and attractive village center.
The province of Overijssel has granted the municipality of Losser a subsidy of € 75,000 to strengthen cooperation in the center of Losser. With the money, the municipality and Centrum Management Losser (CML) will continue working on a future-proof and lively village center.
Working together on the center
The subsidy comes at a time when various developments are taking place in the center; including the redevelopment of the Brink, the St. Maartenstraat, the Martinusplein and the Raadhuisplein. By working more closely together, the municipality and entrepreneurs want to respond to these changes and keep the center attractive for residents and visitors.
An important part of the process is the extension of the Business Investment Zone (BIZ) for the period 2027–2032. Through this arrangement, CML can organize activities such as the Sinterklaasintocht, the Boerenmarkt and the Kerstfair. The current BIZ expires at the end of 2026. Furthermore, the professionalization of the center cooperation is being looked at, for example by appointing a center manager.
Subsidy an important step
Alderman Milad Lahdo calls the subsidy an important step: “With this subsidy, we can further strengthen cooperation in the center. Together with CML and the entrepreneurs, we are building a lively and future-proof village heart.”
Entrepreneurs also see the subsidy as an important step. Karin Stroeve, board member of Centrum Management Losser: “This subsidy means a nice boost for the center of Losser. It strengthens the cooperation between entrepreneurs and the municipality and helps us to continue investing together in a vital and attractive center for residents and visitors.”
