Preparatory work begins in Stokkum, Kilder and Didam-Oost
Hoornstra Infrabouw has won the tender for the preparatory work on the residential construction sites in Stokkum, Kilder and Didam-Oost. The work has now begun, and Alderman Gerard Nijland officially launched the preparatory work on the sites today.
The work starts with the removal of old foundations and plants. The ground is then moved and levelled to the correct height. Temporary or permanent sewerage and cables for gas, water and electricity will be installed. Wadis—shallow ditches that collect rainwater during construction—will also be created. Grass, herbs and trees will be sown and planted around and in these wadis. Temporary roads will be laid for construction traffic. For the municipality of Montferland, this is an important step. If everything goes according to plan, construction of the new homes will begin in the second half of this year. Alderman Gerard Nijland: “With the start of these works, we are taking an important step towards more affordable and sustainable housing in Montferland. It is wonderful to see that preparations are now being tackled concretely, with attention also paid to water collection and green space design.”
