Election results evening at the town hall, everyone is welcome!
In two days, the municipal elections will take place. What will happen on election day and what comes next?
Wednesday, March 18: election results evening
From 9:00 PM onwards, everyone is welcome in the council chamber of the town hall for the election results evening. As soon as the first results come in, expected between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM, Giel Bruijnaers will present the interim results. These will include the totals per party per polling station. And, once the election team in the town hall has processed all the results from the ten polling stations, the provisional seat distribution will be announced. This is expected to happen around midnight. We also hope to announce the number of votes cast per candidate at that time. Of course, these remain provisional results until the main election committee has officially confirmed the election results. Between the announcements, there will be interviews with the leaders of the factions and candidate councillors, and reactions will be gauged in the hall.
Friday, March 20: clarification debate
On Friday, March 20, there will be a clarification debate where the lead candidates will provide a preliminary interpretation of the election results. This is a brief, public debate to ensure openness and transparency during the formation period after the elections. The meeting begins at 6:00 PM in the council chamber.
Tuesday, March 31: farewell to the current council
