Let's hit the streets for a litter-free Nederweert together!
On Saturday, March 21, around 60 enthusiastic residents of Nederweert took to the streets and neighborhoods for the annual National Cleanup Day. With gloves on, litter grabbers in hand, and wearing eye-catching vests, young and old joined forces to tackle litter together. A wonderful initiative that we, as a municipality, are delighted about!
A successful central starting location
New this year was the central starting location at the Alterna Financiële Diensten branch on Kerkstraat. At 9:00 AM, volunteers gathered there to kick off the cleanup in the center of Nederweert together. After two hours of hard work, the participants returned to the starting point, where they were treated to a well-deserved cup of coffee and a slice of vlaai.
In their own neighborhoods
Residents who took action in their own neighborhoods also made a valuable contribution to a cleaner Nederweert. For example, McDonald’s Nederweert organized a cleanup event where residents from PSW also lent a hand, and cleanup actions took place in Ospeldijk, Leveroy, and Schoor.
A heartfelt thank you!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in National Cleanup Day. Without your dedication and enthusiasm, this would not have been possible. You make a difference for a clean and pleasant living environment in Nederweert. Thank you all!
Photos in the town hall
Curious about what the volunteers encountered? Over the next two weeks, photos from Cleanup Day will be on display in the lobby of the town hall. Feel free to stop by and see how our residents worked together to clean up Nederweert.
