Nijkerk to go gas-free, share your thoughts on how we’ll make it happen
As a municipality, we aim to be completely gas-free by 2050. This means we will need to heat our homes and buildings in a different way—without natural gas. In the case of Nijkerk (almost entirely), this will mean using electricity. Before we make the switch, every house and building must be ready for this change. In other words: the heat transition.
Meetings
At the moment, we, as the municipality—together with residents, entrepreneurs, and social organizations—are developing a plan for how Nijkerk, Hoevelaken, and Nijkerkerveen can become gas-free. Would you like to contribute your ideas? The Advisory Group will meet twice in the near future:
- Monday evening, 13 April 2026
- Wednesday evening, 27 May 2026
- Time: 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Location: to be announced
Registration
You can register by sending an email to duurzaam@nijkerk.eu before 3 April. It would be helpful if you include your name, age, and which district you live in (Nijkerk, Hoevelaken, or Nijkerkerveen).
