Meeting on Climate-Resilient Wezep Centre Plan – 23 March
On 20 April, work will begin on the Climate-Resilient Wezep Centre Plan. Over the coming years, the municipality will redesign the centre area to make it better equipped to deal with the effects of climate change. On Monday 23 March, an open-house meeting will be held from 16:00 to 20:00 at the Kruiskerk.
You can view the design, ask questions and meet the contractor and area manager. There will also be information about the schedule and disconnecting rainwater from homes.
Why?
The sewer system in the centre needs replacing. This presents an opportunity to redesign the public space. A rainwater infiltration sewer will be installed, streets will be redesigned and more space will be created for trees and greenery.
Schedule
The work will be carried out in eight phases and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028. New trees and planting will be installed each year during the planting season (October–March).
Garden Coach
Driesje Visch will be on hand as a garden coach from 18:30 to 19:30 to advise residents on creating a climate-friendly garden. Think more greenery and plants that help keep the garden cooler in summer. You can also request a free garden-coaching session with her.
