Milestone for Veldegge-Noord in Heeten. First construction works in sight
With the unveiling of the construction sign at the Holterweg, the preparatory construction works for Veldegge-Noord in Heeten have symbolically started today. The area is being prepared for the construction of 90 new homes. The construction of the homes is expected to begin at the end of 2026. Residents of the future residential area and other parties involved, such as Plaatselijk Belang and Heeten Woont, were present at the symbolic start of the construction works. Alderman Alexander Kreule unveiled the construction sign at the Holterweg together with Roy Brinkhof of Plaatselijk Belang Heeten and Jan Regelink of Heeten Woont. Alderman Alexander Kreule: “Today is a special milestone in the Veldegge-Noord project. Soon, the first changes in the area will be visible. With the construction of 90 new homes, we can provide many people with a home again.”
On the way to 90 new homes
At this moment, the municipality is busy with the preparations for the plot allocation. Plaatselijk Belang Heeten and Heeten Woont are involved in Collectief Particulier Opdrachtgeverschap (CPO) in Veldegge-Noord. The plot allocation will start next spring. Some small works are also already being carried out in the area, such as the placement of branch rills (piles of pruning wood as a hiding and nesting place for hedgehogs, birds, and insects) and hedgehog houses. And 2 trees are being felled, which will later be replanted with new trees. The rest of the trees in the area will be preserved and form the basis of the new, green residential area. In addition, the municipality is investigating together with a group of active residents from Heeten whether it is feasible to realize a dog play area in one of the wadis in the new residential area. In April or May, the ground works will start. The construction road will then be built, so that the construction traffic does not have to drive through the village. The site will also be made ready for construction. After the construction phase, the cables and pipes will be laid. The construction of the first homes is expected to start at the end of 2026.
