Grant from RegioDeal for multifunctional centre De Hokhorst project
Good news for the plan to redevelop De Hokhorst.
A grant of €750,000 has been awarded from the Foodvalley region for the plan to expand the sports hall into a multifunctional centre that will house, among other things, the Z.O.U.T. library and the Welzijn & Ondersteuning (SWO) Foundation.
Councillor Kees Eskes: “With the grant from the RegioDeal Foodvalley, more ambitions in the area of social interaction can be realised. This also applies to De Hokhorst. With the allocated grant, more user wishes can be fulfilled. We are very pleased with this.”
Good community facilities contribute to a pleasant living and working environment in the region. Renswoude has grown significantly in recent years, and there are still several new construction projects planned for the coming years. To ensure that facilities grow in line with the increase in residents, it is essential to invest in sufficient and accessible community facilities. This is also to promote interaction between residents. As part of the grant agreements, we will be actively collaborating with other multifunctional centres in the region that have received grants. This will involve knowledge sharing on programming, organisation and promotion.
The plans for De Hokhorst are taking shape. IRP Bouwadvies has created a design that was discussed with users last month. A consultation meeting was also held for local residents. The renovation, which will also make the facility more sustainable, is scheduled to start at the end of 2026. The renovation is expected to take 9 to 12 months.
More information about the multifunctional centre De Hokhorst can be found on the municipality’s website: https://www.renswoude.nl/projecten Soon, an information board with an impression of the design will be placed in the library and the sports hall.
