Municipality launches new Cultural Vision: have your say?
The municipality of Scherpenzeel is developing a new Cultural Vision. This vision will define what we, as a municipality, consider important in the areas of culture, heritage, leisure, and active participation over the next ten years. We invite residents to share their input.
Since the previous cultural policy document has expired and no longer aligns with developments in our municipality, it is time for a new direction. We invite residents to contribute their thoughts through a comprehensive leisure survey. This survey examines how people spend their free time, what they value, and what could be improved in Scherpenzeel. The questionnaire is available at Survalyzer - Professional survey
Why is a new Cultural Vision necessary?
Our society is changing. People engage in different activities, have varying interests, and new groups of residents are arriving. Additionally, culture, well-being, and sports are increasingly collaborating. A strong Cultural Vision helps us understand and respond to these developments. We will consider aspects such as cultural education, local amenities, collaboration between associations, and opportunities for young people. The new Cultural Vision will serve as the foundation for plans and actions up to 2030.
Participate in the leisure survey
In February, nearly 3,000 residents received a personal invitation by post to complete a questionnaire. Completing it takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Everyone who participates has a chance to win one of ten "Heerlijk Scherpenzeel" gift vouchers worth €25. Residents can complete the questionnaire online until 7 April 2026. Responses will remain anonymous.
Residents who did not receive a letter can still participate. The link to the questionnaire is available at Survalyzer - Professional survey
Your opinion matters
The survey results, combined with discussions with cultural and sports organizations, will shape the new Cultural Vision. This ensures that cultural policy aligns with what residents do and need. The more people participate, the better we can determine where to focus our efforts in the future.
Next steps
In May or June, the municipality will discuss the initial findings with the municipal council. The new Cultural Vision is expected to be adopted by the municipal council by the end of 2026 or early 2027.
