Province of Limburg joins the Geleen-Zuid neighbourhood approach
This week, the cooperation agreement was signed, officially bringing the Province of Limburg into the integrated neighbourhood approach ‘Luuj Make Gelaen-Zuid’. This makes the district the eighth area within the provincial collaboration. Where did this take place? Right here, in the Zuidkamer, of course!
In Geleen-Zuid, we have been working together for several years now. The Municipality of Sittard-Geleen, ZOwonen, MIK & PIW Groep, Triade, Graaf Huyn College, the neighbourhood platform, Waterschap Limburg and many other partners have been building a healthy and safe district here for the long term. The involvement of the province will help us further strengthen the social foundation of the neighbourhood approach. Our sleeves rolled up for a district where residents, organisations and authorities work together effectively on health and safety!
“Geleen-Zuid shows that social challenges and investments in public space go hand in hand. The agreements we make today are ambitious: together, we will ensure more connection, more safety and more job opportunities. We are not only investing in buildings, but especially in people.” – Deputy Van Caldenberg
