No fewer than 1,600 residents of Sittard-Geleen have signed up for the free flower seed action. All available spots have now been allocated. The high level of interest shows that many people want to help make the municipality greener and create more space for plants and animals.
Thanks to this initiative, nearly 11 hectares of flowers can be sown this spring. That is roughly equivalent to 27 football pitches filled with colour, nectar, and shelter for bees, butterflies, and other insects.
