What happens next?
The municipal council is the highest authority in the municipality and is directly elected by its residents. The newly elected municipal council will be sworn in on Wednesday, April 1.
Following the elections, the process of forming a new executive board begins. On Monday, March 23, a public clarification debate will take place. During this debate, the lead candidates will discuss the election results and what this means for the first steps toward forming a new executive board. The municipality of Woudenberg uses a scout to guide this process. The alderpersons are appointed by the municipal council. If the alderpersons come from within the council itself, they will resign from their council seats upon accepting their new roles, and a new council member from their party will take their place. The duration of coalition formation depends on how the negotiations proceed.
