New sector guide promotes Dutch circular battery sector
On March 3, 2026, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) presented the guide 'Powering partnerships for circular batteries' to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW) and the Battery Competence Cluster-NL (BCC-NL). This sector guide highlights what the Netherlands can achieve in the field of battery technology. It also strengthens the position of the Dutch circular battery sector on the international stage.
The sector guide 'Powering partnerships for circular batteries' is a collaboration between IenW, RVO, and BCC-NL, aimed at assisting Dutch entrepreneurs in the battery sector. It includes a catalogue of Dutch companies active in the circular battery sector.

Dutch battery sector on the map
Battery technology is one of the key components of the global energy transition. It plays a crucial role in sustainable mobility, energy systems, and the broad electrification of our economy. Among other things, this guide demonstrates how the Dutch government is leveraging business opportunities in the battery sector.
The sector guide was launched at the start of the National Growth Fund project: Material Independence & Circular Batteries. A programme led by BCC-NL. With this project, the Netherlands aims to reduce its dependence on scarce and critical raw materials for batteries. Additionally, it seeks to capitalize on opportunities in the battery industry.
Taco Bosdijk (Policy Coordinator Dutch Battery Strategy for IenW) and Mustafa Amhaouch (Director BCC-NL) accepted the report. "It's wonderful that we can receive the sector guide for the circular battery sector today. A tangible result of strong collaboration between policy, implementation, and the sector itself," says Bosdijk.
Roy Paulissen presents the sector guide to Jongseo Choi.
During the InterBattery trade fair in Korea, the sector guide made its international debut. Roy Paulissen, Senior Advisor Semicon and Batteries at RVO, presented the guide to Mr. Jongseo Choi, Executive Director of the Korea Battery Industry Association (KBIA).
On the occasion of the trade fair, a Korean translation of the sector guide was also released.
Reliable partner
Entrepreneurs often find it challenging to approach a foreign company on their own. With this sector guide, they can demonstrate that they are a reliable partner. This makes it easier to connect with entrepreneurs and governments abroad.
The guide also provides tools for the Dutch economic network to promote the Dutch battery sector internationally as a strong collaborative partner.
