Successful anti-underworld days in Eindhoven district
Last Wednesday and Thursday, Eindhoven was focused on the anti-underworld days. Together with our integrated security partners, including the municipality of Eindhoven, we took a stand against undermining crime. During these days, we inspected numerous vehicles and premises, seizing, among other things, raw materials for the production of synthetic drugs, soft drugs, and cash.
On March 25 and 26, we carried out various inspections in the Eindhoven region. Alongside our integrated security partners, including the administrative intervention teams of the municipality of Eindhoven (BITE) and the Kempen (KIT), we tackled undermining practices, increased awareness and resilience, and gathered information. In addition to the presence of various specialists from the police and administrative intervention teams, the NVWA, Customs, and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) were also active.
Cash, production materials, and narcotics seized.
At a location on Ondernemingenweg in Eindhoven, administrative inspection revealed criminal offenses, including pallets full of pre-precursors weighing hundreds of kilos. These are raw materials for the production of synthetic drugs. During a raid on a hospitality venue on Louise de Colignystraat in Eindhoven, several individuals and vehicles were inspected. This operation was part of an ongoing anti-underworld investigation in the Gestel district.
During various traffic checks, a number of firearms were found in a car. Hidden compartments were also discovered in several vehicles.
Underworld crime; a risk to society
Underworld crime is a major societal problem. The profits for criminals are enormous. This form of crime leads to serious undermining of our society. The vast sums of money also create a huge allure, both for criminal networks and for young people who may be drawn into crime as a result. The enormous earnings also mean that the stakes for criminals are high.
Criminals often use legal services for illegal activities. For example, they may use shops, cafés, homes, or trucks for money laundering, drug trafficking, illegal prostitution, cannabis cultivation, or storing weapons. This is known as undermining. Underworld crime leads to more crime and less safety in society.
