Committees elect new chairs
A number of House committees will hold their constituting meetings this week. During these inaugural gatherings, committee members will once again elect a chair and deputy chair. You can follow the meetings live via Debat Direct.
The constituting meetings are a result of the House elections on October 29, 2025. Since new House members were elected then, the composition of the committees has changed, and it is necessary to appoint new (deputy) chairs. This only happens after a new cabinet has been formed. In the process, new ministries have been established, and House members have joined the cabinet.
Acting chair
From the elections until the constituting meetings, the House committees have had an acting chair who performs the duties. This House member will preside over the constituting meeting.
