Adjustments in the Scheme
- There will be an increased focus on clustered living arrangements where people with and without an intensive care need (Wlz indication) live together. This allows residents to help each other and enables people to live independently longer with support and care nearby. The reimbursement will also increase for a two or more room home suitable for a resident in a wheelchair without Wlz indication. Additionally, the minimum occupancy percentage of suitable homes by people with a Wlz indication will be lowered to 15%.
- Furthermore, the scheme has also been opened for people with a Wlz indication due to a mental or visual impairment. For this target group, an age limit of 50 years and older applies as they often experience limitations earlier due to aging.
- The requirements for a home suitable for a resident in a wheelchair have also been adjusted based on the accessibility standards for buildings (NEN 9120).
Compensation for Extra Costs
The subsidy scheme is intended to contribute to the extra construction costs of these suitable homes to encourage the construction of this type of housing. By 2030, the goal is to build 290,000 homes for the elderly. 40,000 of these will be suitable homes in clustered living arrangements, where Wlz care can be provided at home. 20,000 of these suitable homes will be affordable homes that fall within the social rental sector. This subsidy scheme applies to these.
