The Council of Ministers has, on the proposal of State Secretary Van der Burg of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, acting on behalf of Minister Letschert of Education, Culture and Science, approved the appointment of Annetje Ottow as a member of the Advisory Council on Public Access and Information Management.
This advisory council, established under the Public Access Act, advises the government and parliament, both upon request and on its own initiative, on the disclosure of government information. It also has a mediation role for journalists and academics and promotes an open administrative culture by enhancing the knowledge of professionals in the field of public access.
Annetje Ottow has been Professor of Economic Public Law at Leiden University since 2021. Her research and publications are characterized by a strong connection between theory and (administrative) practice. She also has a strong affinity with the journalistic profession and knowledge of the media sector. For example, she serves on the supervisory board of DPG Nederland BV and previously held a management position at the predecessor of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets.
