Cabinet decides to deploy HNLMS Evertsen in the Mediterranean Sea
The air defence and command frigate HNLMS Evertsen will be deployed from this week until early April in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The frigate will contribute to the defence of the Carrier Strike Group, the defence of Cyprus, and allied territory. This is announced today by Ministers Tom Berendsen (Foreign Affairs) and Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius (Defence) to the Senate and House of Representatives.
Minister Berendsen: “With this deployment, the Netherlands demonstrates allied solidarity and contributes to European cooperation in protecting the international rule of law.”
