Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Week: Everyone Belongs
In the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, everyone should be able to participate. Regardless of a disability, background, sexual orientation, faith, age, or anything else. From 16 to 21 March, the Foundation for Inclusion & Anti-Discrimination, the Municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, and various social organizations are therefore organising the Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Week.
During this week, we will collectively demonstrate our commitment to making our municipality a safe and inclusive place where everyone feels seen and heard. Thursday, 19 March 2026: Black Sheep Can Fly | A Seat at the Table (theatre)
On Thursday, 19 March, the performance ‘A Seat at the Table’ will be shown at Parkvilla. Four actors vividly and sometimes humorously illustrate how inclusion and exclusion work in practice. Saturday, 21 March 2026: Preview Screening of I Swear (film)

The Human Rights Flag
The Human Rights Flag will be raised on Monday, 16 March, and will be on display throughout the Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Week at the town hall. The flag’s design represents what all people share: our DNA, the earth (green), the sky (blue), and a place in the sun (yellow).
