Historic painting finds new home in Boxtel library
The painting of Kasteel van Stapelen, created by Boxtel native Jan Kruijsen in 1937, has found a new home in the Boxtel library. The artwork had been displayed for years in the Stapelen apartment complex but had to be relocated due to renovations.
In collaboration with Heemkunde Boxtel and in consultation with Museum Boxtel (MUBO), the library was chosen as the new location. This painting is part of a series of three works, the other two—Het Bloedmirakel and Gemeentehuis—are both housed in Museum Boxtel (MUBO). On March 19, 2026, the painting was permanently placed on the second floor of the library.
Heemkunde Boxtel and the library will jointly oversee its care. In the event of future changes, such as renovations, a suitable new location for the painting will be reconsidered.
If you visit the library, feel free to admire the painting!
