Interactive exhibition on housing preferences in Den Helder
Earlier this year, we invited you to help shape the future of housing in our municipality. You could do this by completing the Heldere Woonwensen (Clear Housing Preferences) online survey or by sharing your views in street conversations or during meetings. More than 1,100 people shared their opinions. We have compiled these into the exhibition “Heldere Woonwensen in Beeld” (Clear Housing Preferences in Pictures), which will be on display from March 24 to 30 at School 7. As a visitor, you can not only view the exhibition but also share your reactions or ideas.
For example, you can indicate whether you recognize the results or if something is missing. Or what you consider important for a pleasant living environment. You can also share your vision for the future of housing in Den Helder, and there will be a building table where you can visualize your ideas.
New housing plan
After the exhibition, we will incorporate the results into the Omgevingsprogramma Volkshuisvesting (Environmental Housing Program). This is a new plan in which we determine how many homes we will build, for whom, what types of houses, and how we can make neighborhoods more livable. In this way, your Heldere Woonwens (Clear Housing Preference) will help shape how we approach housing in Den Helder in the coming years. The plan will be presented to the municipal council at the beginning of next year.
Deputy Mayor Fotigui Camara is pleased that so many people took the time to complete the survey or join the discussions: “This makes it clearer what is needed in terms of housing in our municipality. It helps us make choices when drafting the Omgevingsprogramma Volkshuisvesting.”
