Haarlem will receive 30 additional car-sharing vehicles, bringing the total from 113 to 143. The new vehicles will be stationed throughout the city. Residents will soon have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with using a shared car.
With the expansion of the car-sharing fleet, we aim to encourage shared transportation in the city. Car-sharing is easy to use and often more affordable than owning a private car.
Locations
We have selected locations where we expect the vehicles to be used frequently. In the city centre, 8 additional car-sharing vehicles will be added. In Haarlem Noord, 9 will be added. In Haarlem Oost, 1 will be added. In Schalkwijk, 5 will be added, and in Haarlem Zuidwest, 7.
The new car-sharing vehicles will be placed in fixed street locations. We will first designate the parking spots for the shared cars, making it clear where they are available. A traffic sign with the text ‘car-sharing’ will be placed at each parking spot.
