100 free trees for residents
Every year, we remove sick trees and plant new ones to maintain a healthy tree population. Trees are vital for a green and healthy neighborhood. For every tree we remove, we plant an average of 1.5 new trees in return.
Sometimes, it’s not possible to replant a tree in the exact same spot where one was removed. The trees we can’t plant in those locations may be taken by residents to plant in their own gardens. This initiative is part of the ‘Samen kleuren we de Stad’ (Together, We Color the City) program. On Friday, March 13, Alderman Martijn Pijnenburg personally distributed some of these trees.
