Construction of Hispohof Hilvarenbeek Officially Underway!
Hilvarenbeek is getting a unique new residential area: the construction of Hispohof has officially begun in the presence of buyers and involved parties. Where a vacant lot stood for years, work is now underway on a contemporary residential complex where the village atmosphere, greenery, and modern living quality come together. From social rental apartments to spacious owner-occupied apartments, Hispohof offers a home for a wide range of residents. The start of construction marks an important milestone in the development, which has been realized at a rapid pace.
Craftsmanship and Collaboration
The realization of Hispohof is the result of intensive collaboration between developer Maas-Jacobs Vastgoed BV, construction company Van Wijnen, the municipality of Hilvarenbeek, and housing corporation Leystromen. Maas-Jacobs won the tender for the development of the residential project, after which it was swiftly elaborated. The project required careful coordination between the new construction, quality of life, and an integrated approach with the surrounding plots, including the school and health center.
“It’s a challenging but beautiful task,” says Kris Maas, managing director and owner of Maas-Jacobs. “We want to create a place where different target groups feel at home. Through close collaboration with, among others, the municipality of Hilvarenbeek, Van Wijnen, and Leystromen, and extensive participation, we have succeeded in designing a living environment that suits Hilvarenbeek: green, welcoming, and future-proof.”
The design incorporates recognizable elements and materials that align with the village architecture. The new construction forms a harmonious whole with its surroundings and enhances the quality of the area.
Piet Machielsen, Alderman for Spatial Development of the municipality of Hilvarenbeek: “The development of Hispohof is an important step for Hilvarenbeek. At this familiar location, a new living environment is emerging where people can truly live together. Thanks to the combination of owner-occupied and rental homes and the green courtyard, our village gains a sustainable, social place where people can meet.”
Technical Quality and Craftsmanship
“The construction of Hispohof requires precision and craftsmanship,” says Danny Vermeer, director at Van Wijnen Breda. “The limited space in the village center, logistical challenges, and high quality requirements made this project a complex task. We have been able to overcome these by using smart construction methods, a tight schedule, and close collaboration between all parties involved. We look forward to getting started with the construction.”
Nicole Jansen, Real Estate Manager at Leystromen, emphasizes the importance of mixed residential programs: “There is a great shortage of social rental homes in Hilvarenbeek. We are proud to offer 20 social rental apartments here. A place where comfortable living and greenery come together. It’s an inclusive living environment where everyone feels at home.”
About Hispohof
On the site of the former sports hall, two harmoniously designed apartment buildings are rising, totaling 53 apartments, with a strong focus on nature inclusivity. Comfortable, ground-floor apartments with great attention to sustainability and nature. The plan was designed in collaboration with JMW Architecten and Studio REDD landscape architects.
Green and Climate-Resilient Living
The green inner courtyard is the heart of the plan. This shared outdoor space, complemented by façade greenery and carefully selected planting, contributes to biodiversity, cooling, and a pleasant living climate.
The design combines functionality with a warm, village-like appearance. This will give Hilvarenbeek a future-proof residential area that aligns with the municipality’s ambitions in sustainability and climate adaptation.
