Co-living in Laarbeek now possible
In Laarbeek, families can now live on the same property this week. Each with their own space, but close to one another. The municipal executive board (college van B&W) has established the co-living policy rule this week, thereby implementing a motion previously adopted by the municipal council.
“At a time when many people are struggling to find a home, co-living can be a great solution,” says Alderman Ron van den Berkmortel, responsible for the matter. “For example, for young people who want to live independently but cannot find a home. Or for parents who wish to downsize. They can now live on their children’s property. This way, family members can support each other. It also improves housing market turnover.”
What is co-living?
Co-living means a family member lives on the same property. In an existing extension or outbuilding, or in part of your home. No care indication is required. A maximum of two people may live in the co-living unit.
