Free fall risk assessment for over-65s in Budschop
The municipality of Nederweert is organising a follow-up to the Vitality Day in Budschop this spring, which last year focused on fall prevention. Fall prevention aims to reduce or prevent fall-related accidents among the elderly by identifying and addressing risk factors in a timely manner. This is much needed: nationally, every five minutes an over-65 ends up in the emergency department after a fall.
Follow-up with free fall risk assessment
As the consequences of a fall can be serious, the municipality of Nederweert has long been committed to a preventive approach to reduce fall risk. This approach is now being followed up with a free fall risk assessment using the SmartFloor: a smart floor with sensors that maps out fall risk. During the assessment, physiotherapists from the municipality will be on hand to assess individual fall risk and provide more information about the free fall-prevention exercise programmes available in the area.
When and where? Registration required.
Residents of Budschop aged 65 and over are welcome on one of the following dates:
- Monday 20 April

Why participate (again)?
An assessment of fall risk is important to keep track of changes in balance, strength and mobility. After the assessment, the physiotherapists present will provide informal advice on how to reduce any increased fall risk. Residents who attended a Vitality Day or fall risk assessment before are asked to bring their fall passport so that the new results can be compared with the previous assessment. Residents who have never had their fall risk assessed are also very welcome.

Registration is mandatory so that sufficient time can be allocated to each participant. Residents can register by no later than 15 April 2026 with exercise coach Pien de Swart:
