Draft Youth Assistance By-law Oegstgeest 2026
On March 17, 2026, the municipal executive of Oegstgeest established the Youth Assistance By-law Oegstgeest 2026 for public consultation.
With this by-law, the municipality aims to contribute to a future-proof youth assistance system. The by-law has been adjusted based on recommendations from the administrative Taskforce Youth Assistance and aligns with regional agreements within the Leiden Region. Key changes include clear agreements on what does and does not fall under youth assistance, and the principle that the municipality will first assess an individual’s own strengths, social network, and general provisions before resorting to specialized youth assistance.
We have collaborated with the other municipalities in the Leiden region to draft this by-law. We believe it is important for you, as a resident, to provide your advice on this matter. We may decide to adjust the by-law based on your views. We will then consider your opinion in the final decision. However, this is not mandatory. We will weigh everyone’s interests and then make a decision. The by-law will be presented to the municipal council in June.
