Building for the future
Granting of an environmental permit for the redevelopment of Arendsplein 30
The municipal executive has decided to support the redevelopment of the vacant office building (formerly the ING office) at Arendsplein 30 in Oosterhout into an apartment complex with 17 homes. An environmental permit will be granted and the response note to the submitted views has been adopted. This plan gives a new purpose to an outdated and vacant building. The homes are intended for various target groups and price ranges. In this way, the plan contributes to the need for additional housing in the municipality of Oosterhout and to the agreements made in the regional Housing Deal. The design has been adjusted so that the existing plane trees can remain standing. This preserves the greenery in the street and gives this central location a new boost with additional housing.
General
The municipal executive has also:
- decided to support the construction of an adapted parking facility for Catharinadal, to request the council to provide a positive advice on this matter, and to make the design decision for the environmental permit (BOPA) available for inspection;
- decided to enter into a study agreement with Hynetwork. This study will investigate whether the municipalities of Oosterhout and Geertruidenberg can be connected to the future national hydrogen pipeline (Delta Rhine Corridor). The municipal executive will inform the municipal council about this in a council information letter;
- decided to inform the council by letter about the revised planning for the definitive energy vision;
- decided to grant a dispensation for the absence of an audit statement for the 2024 and 2025 annual accounts of Stichting Bruisende Binnenstad and to accept instead a financial report for 2024 and a compilation statement for 2025;
- decided to approve the negotiation result of the Collective Labour Agreement for Social Employment 2026-2028.
